When there is an inflammation or infection in the roots of your tooth because of decay or injury, you may need a root canal. Most root canals are routine: your dentist will remove the diseased tissue inside your tooth, disinfect and shape the root canals, and seal the space so that it is protected. The procedure typically causes no more discomfort than a filling would and the sensitivity you may experience afterwards doesn’t last long. If your root canal needs are more complex, we will refer you to an experienced local endodontist who will take good care of you.
