Dr. Christensen received his BA in Biology from Carroll College in Helena, Montana. After returning from the west, he attended Loyola University School of Dentistry for seven years, receiving his Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1986, his Certificate in Hospital-Based Dentistry (GPR) in 1987, and his Orthodontic Specialty Certificate in 1989. He was state board certified in Orthodontics after graduation and holds dual dental licenses in Illinois and Wisconsin.
He provides comprehensive orthodontics to all age groups and dentofacial orthopedics to growing children. He promotes the use of ceramic (clear bracket) braces for adults who are self-conscious about having a tin grin. Dr. Christensen owned a solo practice in Woodstock since 1991, prior to joining Lake Geneva in 2013. For almost 30 years he has dedicated his practice philosophy to personalized patient care, performing 99% of chair side work himself; he even fabricates his own appliances and retainers in our office laboratory. This hands-on approach to orthodontics separates him from the majority of orthodontics practicing today.
When not moving teeth into their ideal positions, Dr. Christensen enjoys designing and constructing landscapes. He has lived in Fontana, Wisconsin for two decades and has recently taken up gardening wildflowers from seed. He routinely vacations in Colorado where he climbs 14,000-foot mountain summits in the summer and skis in the winter. He also has a passion or gourmet cooking and will share sauce recipes if you promise to brush and wear your rubber bands!
